Non-playing volunteers are a huge part in making EQCs possible. Watch out for an announcement in 2026 to apply as a volunteer – or become part of the event committee now!
Accommodation Options
EQC26 D2 will provide a choice of two options for volunteers for up to 60 non-playing volunteers from Friday to Monday:
Free mattress space in Basel’s scouts home right at the pitches for bringing your own sleeping bag: Pfadiheim Basel.
Pfadiheim Basel
St. Jakobsstrasse 371
4052 Basel
Or beds in the Youth Hostel in Basel in 4 or 6 bed rooms for 20€ per night (heavily subsidised, we take over most of the costs for you!): Jugendherberge Basel.
Jugendherberge Basel
Maja Sacher-Platz 10
4052 Basel
Make sure you bring your own towels for both options.
Travel to Accommodation and within Basel
No matter where you stay, you will receive a free BaselCard which gives you free public transport within the whole city of Basel, including from the train and long distance bus stations – as well as with Bus 50 from EuroAirport to and from the city of Basel. We got you covered, even on your arrival!
Accommodation check-in
The youth hostel reception is open 24 hours per day. Accommodation check-in is available from 15:00 until 23:30.
Breakfast and Lunch
Breakfast (including vegan options, as we have been assured – fingers crossed) will be served at the Youth Hostel for all non-playing volunteers staying there, while the scouts home has a full kitchen and we’ll bring you breakfast there.
You will also receive a lunch package including a sandwich, fruit, and cereal bar – vegan, vegetarian, lactose-free, gluten-free and pork-free options available.
Other Things To Do
With your BaselCard you also get 50% off of the many, many museums in Basel, the theatre, zoo, and other tourist attractions. So make sure you plan in some time on Monday after the event before heading home to make the most of it!
