Bid Process for EQC2020 Open!

Good afternoon everone! We hope you are all enjoying the current warm weather and any potential summer quidditch tournaments you might be attending – don’t forget to drink enough water! – but it’s also high time for us to look forward to our regular international competitions: the Bid Package for the European Quidditch Cup 2020, Division 1 & 2, is now available on our website.

As introduced last season, we will continue to hold EQC over two separate weekends, with Division 2 taking place first, between March 14 and April 5, and Division 1 taking place between April 18 and May 10.

Based on feedback from various NGBs, we pushed the Division 1 timeframe a little earlier than the previous season; we hope this will make the dates a bit more favourable for our various members with exams near the end of May.

Division 1 will continue to host 32 teams, while Division 2 will be upgraded to 24 teams (with a potential upgrade to 32 teams for 2021 being considered at the end of the season).

If you or anyone you know is interested in submitting a bid for either Division 1 or 2 of EQC 2020 (you may also submit for both if you meet the requirements for D1), follow the link below and download the full Bid Package!

Bids must be submitted no later than August 31 to quidditcheurope@gmail.com and we hope to announce the succesfull bids near the end of September! We’re looking forward to your bids!

PS: There is no longer any restriction on countries hostings EQC twice in a row. Both Belgium and Poland are welcome to submit a bid for EQC 2020. Similarly, there is no restriction on a country hosting both divisions during the same season (though it is not preferred).
